For the second consecutive year, Energy Dome was awarded the title of LDES Company of the Year. This accolade is bestowed upon organizations that place long-duration energy storage at the core of their strategy and actively advance the uptake of non-lithium ion technologies. Retaining this title underscores the company’s consistent contribution to the sector and its pivotal role in addressing the global demand for reliable, long-duration storage solutions.

Beyond corporate recognition, the awards celebrated specific operational achievements, such as Energy Dome’s CO2 Battery facility in Ottana, Sardinia, which was named the Best EU Project Under 100MW. As a grid-connected asset currently in commercial operation, the Ottana project serves as a tangible demonstration of the technology’s viability, with the system providing ten hours of storage duration with a round-trip efficiency of 75%, offering a scalable, cost-competitive, and reliable alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

The Ottana project further distinguished itself by receiving a Highly Commended trophy for the Best Overall European Energy Storage Project of the Year, placing the CO2 Battery among the most significant energy storage developments across the continent, acknowledging its status as a standout asset in the European energy landscape.
