MILAN, Italy, 30 September 2026. Energy Dome, the Italian company behind the CO2 Battery for long-duration energy storage, has closed a funding round completed in September 2025 with the participation of 360 Capital Partners through its funds 360 SICAF and Fondo Parallelo LV 360. Fondo Parallelo LV 360 is an initiative of the Lombardy Region that supports the growth and development of highly innovative deep tech startups and scale-ups based in Lombardy.
The new capital will support Energy Dome’s international commercial expansion, with a particular focus on the United States, as well as the further development of its energy storage technology.
Making renewable energy available at any time
Energy Dome’s vision is to make renewable energy available at any time, accelerating the transition to a fully decarbonised electricity system. To achieve this, the company has developed a proprietary technology for large-scale, long-duration energy storage (LDES). Based on a thermodynamic process that uses CO2, it stores electricity cost-effectively and with very high round-trip efficiency.
Designed and engineered in Italy, the technology is gaining commercial traction internationally, with several new development sites currently under discussion in the United States.
Investment details
As part of the funding round, Energy Dome received €1,275,000 from Fondo Parallelo LV 360, managed by 360 Capital Partners SAS using resources from the Lombardia Venture fund. This forms part of a combined €2,500,000 investment from the main fund and the parallel fund, with other investors also participating in the round. The investment is co-financed by the Lombardy Region through the European Regional Development Fund Regional Programme (PR FESR) 2021-2027.
