On January 25, 2023, the annual Cleantech for Europe Summit in Brussels brought together cleantech innovators, investors, and policymakers, all of them representing Europe in the global cleantech race.

Energy Dome was one of the four new additions to Cleantech for Europe’s Scale-Up Coalition, selected for its demonstrated breakthrough technology in the long-duration energy storage space in the scale-up development stage.

The companies in the Scale-Up Coalition are scaling and industrializing technologies to help Europe become climate neutral, energy independent, and competitive. The Coalition was launched in October 2022 and is supported by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, founded by Bill Gates, and by Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy.

The members companies range from those working with renewable hydrogen to ones producing scalable low-carbon cement, electrifying transport, recycling materials and batteries, and now, sustainable and cost-effective long-duration energy storage.

Together with Energy Dome and the other three new member companies—Skeleton Technologies, ZE Energy, and Verkor—the coalition is now 12 member-strong. All members are rapidly growing cleantech companies, joining to usher in a new era of climate and industrial leadership for Europe. Each of these companies has the highest ambition to drive change and speed up decarbonization across industries.

The Scale-Up Coalition will help these companies get a high level of representation in the European public debate, achieve European climate and energy goals, as well as increase the region’s resilience. Energy Dome, in particular, will benefit from the Coalition’s deep experience of creating and managing dialogue with both cleantech and policy leaders.
